How can I add a Perusall learning activity?

Perusall has been setup as an LTI tool provider in Blackboard. Perusall is a social annotation tool that integrates with Blackboard via LTI integration. Perusall allows students and their instructors to collaboratively markup .pdf documents and annotate videos. Instead of reading a document or watching a video and discussing it, Perusall brings the discussion to the text/video.

Important: Instructor and students must start the process in Blackboard, which allows your NJCU credentials to link to Perusall. Do not start at perusall.com

In the Original course view  create a “Web Link” within a content area (from the “Build Content” menu with your Edit Mode turned on). Name the link “Perusall”.  Enter “https://app.perusall.com/lti/launch” as the URL. Select the check box “This link is to a Tool Provider”.  For this Perusall Home Page link, choose “No” for Enable Evaluation. Select “Submit” at the bottom right of the screen.

In the Ultra course view create an item on your course content page. Select “Teaching tools with LTI connection” from the panel that opens to the right. Name the link “Perusall”. Enter “https://app.perusall.com/lti/launch” as the URL. Select the “Open in new window” check box. For this Perusall Home Page link, keep the “Create Grade book entry for this item” unchecked. Select “Save” at the bottom right of the screen.
